Here I'm including photo's of actually building an archtop.
These are of an arch I built on consignment and finished Aug. 2001.
- Body form, top glued up, neck glued up.
- Carving top, glue up back.
- Top finished on outside, neck with truss rod
slot and dovetail, back ready to carve.
- Back rough carved, sides bent, linings, etc in
place.
- Inside of top and back carved.
- Fingerboard stop glued, back glued to sides,
headplates glued to neck.
- Sound holes cut out, braces glued to top, top
glued to sides/back.
- Head cut to shape, fingerboard glued to neck,
body routed for binding.
- Frets installed, neck shaped.
- Binding glued on, mortise cut.
- Neck glued in ready to finish.
- Finish applied, setting up guitar.
- All finished!
